emmy100Michael Harris is one of the most celebrated independent television professionals in the region. Over the last 25 years he's helped create groundbreaking series and specials that have been honored with several prestigious industry awards, including three Primetime Emmy Awards and three International Monitor Awards, and individually he’s taken home nine Regional Emmy Awards (Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and Alaska), with 45 Emmy nominations in an astonishing 15 different categories, including as Producer, Writer, Editor, Director, Photographer and Composer, for both for short- and long-format work.

Michael’s even an accomplished on-air talent.  He was asked to host the KOMO 4 Television (ABC Seattle) prime-time special, GIANTS of the Pacific Northwest, a unique, experiential hour-long program exploring the whales, dolphins and porpoises of the Salish Sea and the wide range of attitudes about them, from whale huggers to whale hunters. For his work on that special, Michael was nominated for an Emmy Award in the coveted category of “Outstanding On-Air Host,” one of just four nominees across the five-state region.
